August 8, 2006 - This afternoon I enjoyed my very first 4-wheeling
experience in Jeep. My friend Chris and I started in St. Elmo and drove the very
bumpy dirt road six miles to Tincup Pass. (NOTE: I tried to hike this stretch of road in mid-April but didn't make it to the top because of all the remaining snow. Click here to see those photos!) |

This was quite a Colorado adventure! Near the beginning of the road, we came across some other Jeep riders who looked very experienced. |

During the ride there, many of my photos came out blurry because the ride was so bumpy that I couldn't keep my camera still! ;) |

The summit of Tincup Pass is definitely a beautiful place. Chris seemed so proud and elated to have made it to the top! |

As to be expected there are really beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains up there. |

Now Tincup Pass is a "low point" in the Continental Divide that served as a connecting point to the small towns of Tincup and St. Elmo. This is definitely a beautiful and scenic place to explore, and there were a small handful of campers, dirt bikers and ATV'ers who were also enjoying the area. |

One photo of myself. There is a marmot in the background who did not seem at all afraid of us! |
